Our Journey

Parents Testimonials

"I am truly grateful to everyone who helped us, and thank God for people who established Yayasan Rumah Rachel which helps lighten the spiritual and material burden for those of us with children suffering from terminal illnesses, and where medicines have failed to cure.

And for me, as Yana's mother, I am ready to help other parents facing the same situation as the one that I went through, and share with them my experiences. Perhaps it may help lighten my own grief. I praise God and hope Yana is now safe by his side, Amin."

- By Ibu Fanny, Yana's mother. Yana was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and passed away at the
age of 10.

"I am really happy for the home visits and care provided to my son, Fardan. I hope Yayasan Rumah Rachel will continue to provide the same care and attention to the children who need medical attention and nursing care at home. I also hope that children living with HIV/AIDS like Fardan can continue to benefit from Rachel House's services. I would like to express my thanks to Yayasan Rumah Rachel for helping us provide the best care for Fardan at home."

- By Ibu Sumi, Fardan's mother. Fardan died in August 2010 from HIV. He was only 9 months old.

"I felt greatly supported by Yayasan Rumah Rachel. Whatever I needed to provide better care for Rizka, but could not possibly obtain, the kind nurses from Rumah Rachel would always try to accomodate and provide.

I was always given full information on my daughter's medical condition. Whenever she was in pain or discomfort, the nurses will always help.

I hope Rumah Rachel will always be around to look after those children in need. In any case, I think Yayasan Rumah Rachel is the best! Please pray that my daughter, Rizka will become a beautiful angel in heaven. Thank you very much, Yayasan Rumah Rachel."

- By Ibu Emi, Rizka's mother. Rizka was diagnosed with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) and passed away at the age of 7 in July 2010

"We would like to express our gratitude for all the assistance and help we have been given, for the contributions from the wonderful nurses, doctors and the people behind Yayasan Rumah Rachel, as well as the donors. Please forgive us if we have committed mistakes in the past. We are very grateful for the help given to allow us to give the best to Bebby, and may she rest in peace in heaven."

- By Ibu Mursini, Bebby's mother. Bebby was a 13 year-old girl diagnosed with non-Hodgekin Lymphoma and passed away in March 2009. She was the 2nd patient admitted to Rachel House's inpatient facility in Bintaro.

"Rachel House's presence was of great asssitance to us, especially in the helping to equip us with knowledge on how to provide better care for Arnov at home and with confidence.

The thing that moved me most was how Alisda and the other nurses worked to fulfill Bos' (Arnov's nickname at home) wishes on his last birthday.

Hopefully in future, Yayasan Rumah Rachel will be able to receive more subsidy and assistance in providing homecare, because children often feel more comfortable and secure at home with their families, where they do not feel isolated or abandoned."

- By Ibu Endar, Arnov's mother. Arnov was diagnosed with neuroblastoma and had just turned 9 years old when he passed away in July 2009.

"As a family, we were greatly supported by the nurses from Rachel House. We are truly grateful for the assistance given to us throughout the time when Safi was very ill at home. The care and attention that was provided by nurse Rina to Safi was always with kindness and totally from the heart - which Safi knew and grew to trust.

I hope that the passion continue to burn strongly for Rachel House's team. That you continue to provide assistance to families like us, and most of all, empower us with the skills and confidence to provide the best care we can to our children in their final days."

- By Ibu Rafina, Safi's mother. Safi was diagnosed with HIV and had just turned 9 years old when she passed away in July 2010.
