We provide palliative care service for children living with life-threatening conditions such as cancer and HIV.
At Rachel House, we aim to provide the highest quality integrated care to patients with palliative care needs, providing pain and symptom relief, spiritual and psychosocial support.
Our goals are:
- To assemble & train multi-disciplinary staff in pediatric palliative care, so as to provide pain and symptom management for children with end-stage cancer and HIV/AIDS
- To train and develop homecare teams in order to provide support and education for families, allowing children with life-threatening conditions to receive the best care at home, should they wish to spend their last days there
- To reinforce local community's capacity to care for children in need through education
- To partner other organizations that add value to our mission
The service is provided in home settings, where patients can be cared for in the familiar environment of their own homes.
